Dyson DC25 Review
As that person who loves having a spotless house but hates cleaning, I'm always looking for things that'll do the job with minimum effort. Whether it's the stuff that makes the shower door gleam with no elbow grease or the anti dust polish, I've spent a lot of money over the years trying to make the house look good without having to do too much. So, I've always been a fan of the Dyson - seeing that little cylinder filling up with dirt makes me feel like I'm really getting somewhere.
Sadly a few months ago, after working in three different houses and on several DIY projects, my old Dyson just wasn’t cutting it anymore. So, after reading reviews of various Dysons and shopping around I eventually bought a DC25 All Floors. And I have to say I'm not disappointed.
The first thing you notice with the DC25 is that it looks good - something this space age must be really, really good at getting up the dirt. But, secondly, when you first try to manoeuvre it, it does seem a bit on the heavy side. The trick is to understand how to work the ball - once you've worked out the tilting technique it's really quite light. Just don't use it like a traditional vacuum cleaner. The manoeuvrability actually makes vacuuming quite fun - you can get round sofa corners and under radiators really quickly and easily. You don't have to keep picking up the vacuum cleaner or moving things about to get round them.
The DC25 All Floors has all the usual attachments my old Dyson had - so you can clean stairs, curtains, sofas and hard to reach nooks and crannies effectively. In addition if you have a pet (which I do - but he's very ancient, rather bald, and doesn't moult much), you can get the DC25 Animal which comes with an attachment specifically for pet hairs and muck.
Lastly, the DC25 is easy to empty - just take the cylinder off, press a button, the bottom opens up and out comes the dirt. As with all Dysons, there’s no bag so you don’t have to buy bags or fiddle about putting them in the vacuum cleaner.
